The True Meaning Of Christmas | Collaboration With asprinkleoflaughter

December 23, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Before I start, sorry for being MIA these past 2 weeks. I had some posts ready but they were not to do with Christmas soI thought I would just save them for another day BUT this is my first collaboration which is why I'm really excited for this post! I will be colllaborating with asprinkleoflaughter! She will be writing a similar blog post to mine but hers is to do with religious meanings and about spreading the love for Christmas! I will post a link down below to her amazing blog/blog post! So let's begin...

What is the true meaning of Christmas? A lot of people are going to say the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. That is 100% on point. But there's more to it. Growing up, when I was in primary school, the birth of Jesus was always focused on. How he was born in a stable, given Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh, how the three wise men visited him by following the star. These were all key features in which we learn/t about. It's a story that we more or less all know.

However, some may know the story of Jesus's birth but may not be able to relate or understand how it links to our lives. In many ways, the birth of Jesus links to our own personal journeys, which is why we celebrate Christmas every year- as if to remind us of our personal growth which links to his birth.

Before y'all close this because you don't get a word of what I'm saying, just give me a minute boo!

We all celebrate Christmas for different reasons, right? Some for the religious side of it like Jesus's birth, some because everybody else is celebrating it, some because they like receiving presents and some because it's just the general festive period that gets them up and celebrating but regardless, we all feel a certain way when this time of year rolls around. We all feel...

Love. Loving. Loved.

The love of December, the love of having your family around, the love of looking forward to something, the love of remembering great memories. The love of God. And personally, for me, that's the true meaning of Christmas and there's nothing more than the birth of Christ that portrays this. Linking back to what I was saying about personal journeys, Christmas is the time of year where we should take the time to stop, reflect and appreciate how far we've come. And to love every moment of it. It sounds annoyingly corny but Christmas comes only once every year.

Everyday we stress, we fret, we grow anxious, we go through life's daily challenges. Some people even stray from the festive feeling. They remember a loved one who has passed, sometimes they focus on the negatives of the year, they feel 'lost', But this is the time of year to change that. A new year is soon coming with soooooo many opportunities for you. Small and big. But before it comes, we need to take the time to breathe and to look at the progress we've made. This relates to us all. It's part of our journey after all!

The birth of Jesus is honestly like the birth of new beginnings. If anyone did not know this, I've recently developed a fear of change. Like since September. I'm in my last year of secondary school and anyone who is in there last year would understand the daunting knowledge that next year, everything is going to change because things will get a lot harder and adulthood is approaching quicker than we thought. But we take growing older for granted, we often wish we were younger but this Christmas, I just want to take a break to appreciate this time and MY personal growth. Appreciate myself and my loved ones because I love Christmas and although everyone's PERSONAL meaning of Christmas is different, I feel like the overall/deeper meaning is to remember to be loving, to love this new chapter that's almost about to be opened and that we are loved by God most high <3
Thanks for reading, have an amazing Christmas guys! I know not everyone is religious or is a Christian. But it's important to remember why we even have a Christmas. X

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

My November Favourites

November 28, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi guys, I just wanted to finish November with a round up of my favourites for this month. I didn't really have a clue what to do, (actually that's a lie), I did have some ideas but I felt those blog posts would be more appropriate to upload at a later date or even next year because from this post forward guys - it's mainly posts to do with Christmas (I can't wait!) or revision (big sigh). But anyways with that done, let's get into the post :)

Beauty:

Shea butter (can be bought for cheap at a market/Afro beauty shop) - I actually have been using Shea butter forever so it's actually a favourite in general. If you're looking for a moisturiser for your bodayyy or even just a sealant for your ends - Shea butter is yo' best friend. I really recommend it to anyone who has a thick or Afro textured hair. The consistency is really thick and seals your hair like gloves to keep the cold from drying it out. I have been using it on my straight hair and it's really kept it from breaking and splitting off. *Apologise for my hair, at least you know I use it *wink**

Models Own HyperGel nail polish: red lustre shade (£4.99) - OH, MY, GOOSHH!! If you ever buy one red polish in your life, PLEASE get this one. Don't be scared by the use of gel in the name. The polish gives you a gel effect although it's just a normal and regular nail polish. I recently used it and remembered how much I loved this colour on my nails. (had to be taken off unfortunately *smh*) I ain't the biggest fan of red, I like my pinks more ;) but this is an exception. It makes your nails look done professionally too.

Avon Care intensive relief lip treatment (£1.10) - winter is not lip licking weather, winter is not lip licking weather, winter is not lip licking weather! I say this over and over guys. Make sure you've got a good lip balm to keep your lips nice and moisturised. Avon care's lip treatment is mine. It's saved me from so many potentially embarrassing moments. Get you a good lip balm!

NAAT cream goat milk & Brazil nut (£5.00) - This has to be one of the most intensive deep conditioning treatments I've EVER used. This is specially formulated for thicker hair *eye roll, (the struggle of thick hair)* so it means that I won't finish a whole bottle of conditioner for one wash day. I don't want to go into too much detail because I am going to be doing a review on this so keep a look out :D

100% pure coconut oil (£2.99) -  A nail care product, a body lotion, a light oil for my hair. Coconut oil is just the bae to be honest. I know some people hate it but I just can't do without it. There's so many uses for it!

Primark exfoliating brush (£1) - If you've read my skin care routine then you'll know that my regimen is basic. I don't use an exfoliating scrub because I find them a bit rough on my sensitive skin so I find the brush a better alternative. AND PLUS IT'S ONLY A POUND. Which means even though I have to throw it away after a couple of months, it don't matter because I can just buy another one for a pound! YASSSSS GIRL, SMOOTH SKIN FOR A POUND!!! WOOOIIII Okay, I'll stop the caps now :)

Although this was just supposed to be a beauty favourites, I decided to throw in some music because music is music. It helps us all in different ways. So here's a list of my fav music from November! (Look out for my December playlist for the Christmas season!)

Music:

-Side to side (Ariana Grande Ft. Nicki Minaj)
-Shout out to my ex (Little Mix)
-Ain't your mama (Jennifer Lopez)
-Selfish (PnB Rock)
-Kontrol (Maleek Berry)

Thanks for reading guys, love you a million! Hope you guys enjoyed November, one more month until #2k17 !! That's honestly mad...

10 Reasons Why You Should Let Him Go? + Advice

November 20, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi Guys x This was a post that I didn't know if I should do or not but I decided that I am going to write it regardless because it's important and hopefully it helps someone. The funny thing is before year 10, boys were just boys. I didn't really care for them or  have any interest in who liked who or who would notice me. Honestly, your girl was just minding her own business and doing whatever.

Starting year 10, all that changed. Let's just say there were some lessons that were learnt the hard way. I'm still learning, I'm still 15 which is young to be worrying the way I did but it happens to say the least. Younger girls shouldn't be worried or crying themselves to bed because of someone who they're probably not going to remember the surname of in the next 3 years to come. However it happens and it's sad to say that it's very common. I hope this post uplifts someone and makes a person understand that some guys are just not worth the crazy.

PS. This is more targeted to those who have crushes or are in the 'talking stage', a relationship I feel is more complex so you might not be able to relate fully to the reasons below.

PPS. Sorry to any guy reading, I know girls can do all of these things also. But being a girl, I can't help but come at this from a girl's perspective.

#1: If he doesn't call or text you regularly

As you get older, you realise those who don't ask of you regularly or those who don't even take the time to just send an ordinary 'are you okay' text shouldn't even be worth the worry. That goes for friends too. The older we get, the more rubbish we have to deal with in life. It doesn't take up to a minute to check on someone. Understandably, everyone's got a life that they have to worry about but people make time for things they care about. No question about it. If he ain't doing that, let him gooooo. The best thing to do is archive your chat with him. If he ain't texting you, he probably ain't gonna leave that archive. It's just a less extreme alternative to blocking.

#2: You are always worried or crying over him

Nah, just nah. Please take in the word 'always'. Not that you cried over him once, but to ALWAYS be crying - girl cut him off. In this case, try and do things to take your mind off him. Work out, take a walk, do revision, listen to music, go out with your girlfriends. Just don't dwell in your bed at night overthinking about him.

#3: There's other girls involved

Girl, baby girl... Unless that is what you sighed up for then feel free to skip this one but if you are constantly having to question if you are the only chick, there is no point in being a chick. Period.

#4: If he lies to you

As a female, we have a sixth sense. And that is to know if someone is lying or not. There's always that tingly feeling that something ain't right or something isn't adding up. If you're putting 2 and 2 together and getting 15, it's time to start making some changes. You need to start subtracting. ASAP. If you know he's lying, I advice you to distance yourself.

#5: He ignores you or doesn't acknowledge you

That's childish. That's long. That's unnecessary. If someone truly cares about you, they're going to show it. It takes the right person to brush off their pride and make an effort. Remember that. This one will hurt but it's best to get to terms with it and just write your feelings on a piece of paper and throw it away.

#6: It's always you who has to fix things

You can't be putting in a hundred and receiving 20. It doesn't work like that. It should be 50/50. Allowing people to mess around with your feelings because they believe you will chase after them in the end is a no,no. Take your kindness boo and give it to someone who actually cares.

#7: It's always the same old story

"I like you but I can't express myself."
"We're just friends, why are you always looking for an argument?"
"I was just joking, I didn't mean to."
Girl, you soon get tired after the same thing is said 20 times.

#8: All words no action

This is one that needs to sink in. Any guy can tell you he likes you, I want to take you out or you're the only girl who I talk to. Yada yada yada. But how many guys are actually going to stop playing games and just check up on you or have a real conversation? I ain't asking for the Ritz! Remember it doesn't take much for guys to say the right things, so just be aware.

#9: Not one or two, but ALL your friends are telling you to let him go

That's a sign. It's easy to say that if a few of your friends are being shady, it's just because they don't have a bae or they're just anti-guys. But if most of your friends are telling you he's childish and you need to move on, think about what they're trying to say. After all, your friends are your chosen family, they should only want what's best for you.

#10: You are unhappy

This one is a no brainer. If you are unhappy, cut off what's cutting off your supply of happiness. Yes, those memories are unforgettable. Yes he may make you feel so important and make you feel that you are the only girl for him. Yes, he might put a smile on your face every time he approaches you. But that doesn't account for the tears you shed, the feeling of anxiousness when you hear a rumour that he likes someone else or the hurt you feel when he walks past you without a second glance.

I don't think some of you realise how gorgeous and amazing you are. That's not me saying that, it's me meaning that. One thing that I've noticed looking at my friends and other girls who I come across where guys have led them to be heartbroken, upset or unfocused is that they're all ether pretty, smart or they're amazing people with great personalities. Girls really be losing confidence over some dumbass who failed/fails to see the beauty in them.

But please don't let your feelings for someone overcloud your common sense. If a guy is playing you, have the strength to leave his stewwpid self behind. Sometimes us girls choose to settle because we believe we will never find someone who will make us feel special like the way he did. That's wrong and that's a lie. Better is always round the corner. It's all about patience. Focus baby girl. Don't let anyone leave you hurt or unfocused because I honestly believe 2 years from now, you won't even remember a thing. If you do, you probably won't even care.

Thanks for reading this lengthy post. It was nice to write something different. Have a great week beautiful, please remember this post. You're a queen who deserves a king, not a peasant who doesn't understand the difference between a rock and a diamond. You will be fine, your glo' is coming!
Love you x

My 2016 Skincare Routine

November 13, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Ello, ello, ello! In today's post I am going to be talking a little bit about what I currently use in my skin care routine. So here's a fun fact for y'all: I had very bad acne at the age of 10. Like really bad! It was actually the source of my low self-esteem at a young age and was something I had always been insecure and picked on about. Not to mention it left dark hyper-pigmentation on my face, (I have dark skin), which made it extremely obvious. BUUUUUT ya girl is acne free (RiRi: how 'bout a round of applause?). My face is not perfect, not even close! But compared to what it was 5 years ago, your girl has come a long way!

Cleanse - African Black Soap

So all of you are probably wondering what's all that black, shiny stuff in the container. To put it simply, it's just African black soap. It's great for hyper pigmentation, clearing up your face, brightening your complexion and cleansing your face. If anything, this is the main reason why my face has cleared up within the past 5 years. I massage this into my face, sometimes using an exfoliating brush and then rinse it all off. I wash my face once or twice a day.

Morning: Moisturiser

In the morning I apply a moisturiser as opposed to my gel. The 'moisturiser' I actually use is a sunscreen. Many of you may think 'why sunscreen?' but I use sunscreen to prevent any of my dark spots from basically getting darker due to harmful UVB/UVA rays.
Has it worked? YESS!
The process of them clearing up could have taken much longer if not for the sunscreen. I use it all throughout the year - with or without the sun. LOL. However it is moisturising, just make sure you get one of 15 SPF or higher. I use 50 :) (It can be quite greasy, so just a precaution.)

Night: Gel

This recently came into my routine not too long ago but I highly recommend it! I use aloe vera gel at night. After I finish washing my face with the black soap, I just dry my face with cotton pads and then apply the gel. You only need to use very little. It soothes and moisturise your face so it prevents it from completely drying out. When you put it on, it may feel a bit tight.once the gel dries but that feeling will soon fade away. This has prevented breakouts, not cleared my hyper pigmentation, but has stopped me from breaking out as much as I would have before using it. And it's a nice alternative from constantly putting creams on your face, plus there's no residue!

But that's it guys. My routine is not the most, I don't know, fascinating. It doesn't have many steps, it's very simple. It's more or less wash, exfoliate with a face brush and apply gel/sunscreen. Not so exciting, saaarry guys. But from previous experience, having a simple regime is just the best answer. Applying the whole sha-bang doesn't really do wonders for me. I just thought I would share what has helped my face improved.

Thank you for reading! I'm actually proud of myself guys, I've been quite consistent so far and I plan to stay consistent. Remember to enjoy today and to not let overthinking cloud your beautiful mindset. God bless!

What's In My School Bag?

October 30, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Hey beautiful! Today's post is quite simple but may be helpful. It's simply 'What's in my school bag?'. To be honest this post should have been written ages ago, I'm talking about the start of this academic school year. Buuut, seeing as we are about to start the second half of this school term, an update may be needed.

Planner:

Luckily, in the school that I go to, a planner is provided at the start of the year. As we are going into a new term, please make sure you have something that can keep you organised. There's nothing worse than forgetting that your essay is due today, or having to rush into a blog post because it needs to be up by tomorrow or even getting a panic attack because you found out your exam is actually in two days, not in two weeks. Make sure you're organised and you're keeping track.

Textbooks:

Get your text books guys. Starting school again means that more content is going to be covered in whatever subject you're doing. Especially if you're doing GCSEs or A-levels- make sure you have your books on ya! I actually need to buy mine. *thinking emoji*

Female necessities:

Tissues, lip balm, pad/tampon, hair clips, hair tie, compact mirror, gum etc etc. Make sure you have your daily needs cause you don't know when they'll become in handy.

Equipment:

Personally, I need my maths equipment which includes a geometry set, a scientific calculator, pens and pencils, highlights, rubber and rulers etc. I also do art which means I need my mini folder which contains my artwork. Overall, just make sure you have everything you need for that day/week.

Book:

Long story short: no book = one behaviour point. Whatever the punishment or no punishment there is for not having a book- just make sure you have one.

Exercise/School book:

Nothing worse than going to school and not having your school book which you'll need for a particular subject. Not only could you get in trouble but you could struggle.

Homework:

Because who's really got time to get a detention for missing homework?

That's it guys, its a short post but I wanted to do this post to get this out of the way plus school is soon starting so why not just get this out there? Thank you for reading. Lots of love gurl <3
Btw, my bag is from Matalan. If memory serves correctly, it costs £14.00 :)

Halloween Nail Tutorial: Egyptian Bones

October 23, 2016 2 Comments A+ a-

Hola gurls! Halloween is fast approaching so what better way to get into the holiday than creating a nail tutorial? Yes, let's do this. Just a heads up guys, most of the products I use are not big name brands, most products I use have been purchased online or have been given to me as as a present. I advise you to use whatever brand of nail polish you like or have, just make sure the polish is good quality. If there's a unique, particular shade that I feel could be benefit you guys in anyway, then I'll post the name of the polish along with the number but to be frank, there's nothing crazy amazing about the specific brands I use so use whatever you want to use. Now with that off my chest, let's get started.

What you will need:

- A black nail polish
- A white nail polish
- A gold nail polish
- A glitter nail polish (I used gold glitter to bring out the gold nail polish which was quite faint)
- A dotter pen (You can use a ball point pin or a bobby pin as an alternative)
- A thin black nail varnish to create the stripes
- Base coat and a top coat

Thumb & ring finger:

1. Apply your base coat
2. Apply two coats of gold nail polish
3. Add your glitter nail varnish on top. (TIP: dab on the glitter nail varnish using a sponge to have more pigmented glitter)
4. Finish with a top coat

Forefinger:

1. Apply base coat
2. Add your black nail polish
3. Finish with a top coat

Middle finger:

1. Apply base coat
2. Apply two coats of white nail polish. Wait till it dries.
3. using your doting pen or bobby pin etc, apply gold and black dots all over
4. Once it dries, finish with a top coat

Pinky finger:

1. Apply a base coat.
2. Add two coats of white nail polish. Wait till it dries.
3. Using a black striper pen, add black stripes from the bottom of your finger to the top.  (TIP: If you're shaky, rest your hand on a table and move your pinky finger downwards whilst placing the striper on your nail.)
4. Seal with a top coat.

And that's it! If you have read this post, thank you a million for doing so! This tutorial was quite simple, I think the only difficulty was documenting it for you guys but you know that I would do it for the blog :) But I hope you enjoy the holiday guys and have a great half term. I should be writing some more interesting posts so keep an eye out. Stay blessed!

5 Things I Learnt Since Starting School Again

October 16, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Heyyyaaa guys! So it has almost been a month since I've started school and I've learnt quite a lot in such a short space of time. Yeah, school is for studying, especially seeing as it's my last year. Plus it's the year that counts the most but honestly, honest to lord Jesus our saviour, I'm sick and tired of hearing the same old mantra: "This is the most important year" , "You have to give it a hundred" and "It's not time for fun and games anymore". I KNOW THAT yet they think saying all o
f that over and over again is motivating, no boo, it's demotivating - it's the complete and utter opposite of motivating.

But I'm not ranting about school and stress right now, I'm focused more on what I've personally learnt and hopefully you can take some of that learning experience and apply it to your life in some way because we are all humans up in here so let's help our brothas and our sistahs. Can I get an amen? Alright, here we go!

#1: School drains your energy as you begin GCSEs

In other words, you become more tired. I don't know if it's just me or everyone else too but since starting school, I've been so tired. Coming home to my bed/sofa is a blessing. So remember, all that work will tire you out. Not to mention if you play sports/blog etc.

#2: Some people will never change

Probably a lot of you are thinking 'everyone has to change at some point'. True, but there are some people who no matter how much you think they'll mature/learn, they never do. Some people carry the  same persona. Good or bad. Leave those people be, just let them gooooo.

#3: You will have good days and bad days

On the first week of starting school, I cried. The second week of school I cried, again. That's two times. And although I'm sensitive, I'm not a big crier, as in crying once every week since starting school is very out of character for me. But you live and you learn. What you must realise you guys is that great things are going to happen which will fill your life with happiness and there's terrible things that will happen that will make you feel anxious or depressed. But know that you're not the only one. So enjoy the here and now and don't overthink it too much.

#4: Time is precious. Don't waste it.

Don't waste your time worrying. Don't waste your time being bitter. Don't waste your time on him/her. Don't waste something that you will never get back. In year 11, you learn that time ain't no joke! If there's a situation or person who's causing you to feel negative and you know it's not going to matter 3 years from now, don't even waste your time honey, you're worth too much for any/people negative vibes.

#5: Some people are not meant to be in your life for too long.

Enjoy the people who are in your life but always keep in mind who's permanent and who's temporary. Situations that may happen to you will show you who's is supposed to be in your life and who's not.

Thank you for reading! Comment below some things that you have learnt since starting school. Always remember to do what makes you have a peaceful mindset because at the end of the day, you have your best interest at heart. God bless xx

4 Books To Read This Autumn

October 09, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello beautiful people! So October is finally here, the peak of Autumn. Spring and Autumn - *heart eyes*. I love Spring because that's my birthday season and Autumn is just that month where everyone is inside, you get to drink hot beverages and wear jumpers etc etc etc. Plus the FOMO is not that bad seeing as it's not Summer anymore plus you're not freezing to yo' toes because it's not yet Winter. Just that nice in between!

One thing that I love to do during the colder seasons is to stay inside and either read or catch up with my series. So in this post I'll be suggesting some books you really should read this upcoming Autumn/Winter period.

Flowers in the attic

This has to be one of my favourite books (Noughts and Crosses comes first). I'm currently reading the second one and I'm planning to finish it hopefully by next week. This book is about four children who are locked away from society in an attic with a merciless grandmother. Their father has died and now they are to meet the horror and nightmares of which the attic has in store for them. I don't want to spill too much but I really want you guys to read this book! It's teen fiction and great! Warning: Might make you cry.

Secrets at St. Judes - Jealous girl

This is not the first book in the series but 'Jealous Girl' is equally as good. Roughly it's about a girl who comes from sunny LA to wet and windy Edinburgh. She befriends 3 other girls and they get up to all sorts. I would recommend this to younger teens/if you're in your mid teens. If you are 16+ you may want something more mature but either way Secrets at St. Judes is worth a read. It's a romance/teen fiction.

Siege

The thing about books is that they're not as graphic and detailed as watching a movie. A movie connects with you visually whilst using sounds. So usually when there's a horror or thriller book, I tend to read it regardless because I know it cannot scare me to such an extent. HOWEVER, if you're looking for a book to REALLY keep you on edge, I've got you girl! Siege has suspense. No joke! Every chapter is a cliffhanger. Very hard to put down. Definitely a thriller, not really a horror. It's about a girl who is trapped in a school with gunmen/terrorists and they're murdering/causing chaos across the whole school. But there's a twist... Quite interesting for me because it's set in the UK, so it keeps me guessing what I would do in the girl's situation. Warning: Quite sad at the end.

The story of my life

Anne Cassidy is the bae. All her books are interesting and intriguing especially 'Looking for JJ' which everyone should read at some point! I'm actually in the process of reading 'The story of my life' but so far I'm hooked. The beginning is a bit slow but it soon jumps straight into it so that's all good. Overall it's about a boy name Kenny who's looking for a guy named Tommy but if he finds Tommy, there's a possibility all hell might break loose, plus he only has a few hours to find him. I'm guessing it's teen fiction or thriller but most likely teen fiction.

Thanks for reading lovelies! Don't forget to check my previous post: Soap and Glory: Sun Kissed Tan Review !

Soap and Glory: Sun Kissed Tint Body Lotion

October 02, 2016 2 Comments A+ a-

Hey Guys! So now I'm doing my first ever review! So lets just hope it all goes to plan. Pray for my guys. Okay guys, the product I'll be reviewing is the soap and glory sun kissed body tint. I actually didn't buy this as one product, I got the whole Soap and Glory bundle for Christmas (thanks Grandma!), so the body tint came with the bundle. Being that I am black, I don't need a tanning lotion to 'tan' my body ;) My body has enough melanin for that so the question is, what do I think?

The Description

The lotion has a Shea butter and a Frangipani flower infusion. It instantly washes off and has no streaks. It should be left for 2-3 minutes to properly 'set' before you get dressed (please wait those 2 minutes, trust me, I've not waited and it's gone on clothing- yeah, it washed out but still be cautions.) The product also states that it's temporary and is long lasting.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
- It leaves a slight shimmer and shine, even on brown skin.
- Can be used as a normal cream (if you are lighter in tone and want to use it daily, use small amounts or mix with your normal cream so that it doesn't look too 'obvious')
- Washes out easily, don't have to be using a sponge, towel, kitchen roll, a CGP book and sandpaper to scrub off
- Moisturising

Cons:
- If you don't spread it evenly and it dries, you will have faint lines and streaks.
- Not that effective if you have darker skin like me.
- Shimmer is not that bold
- Can smear on clothing if you don't let it dry.
- Will rinse off quicker if you go swimming with it on

F.A.Q

How much is it?
The product itself is £8.00

Can I use it if I have darker skin?
You can but you won't have this bold, golden effect, it's very faint.

Where can I purchase the product?
If you live in the UK, boots

Is it worth the price?
Personally, I wouldn't pay £8.00 for just the cream. But then again, I wouldn't pay £8.00 for any tanning product because I don't necessarily need it. However, I love using it as a regular cream or mixing it with another cream plus it's nice to have it come with the whole bundle.

Overall opinion/rating?
Great moisturiser, bronzes skin faintly and is a nice texture (not too heavy/light).
3/5

Thank you for reading my first ever review guys! Hope to do more in the future.
Stay blessed,

Why I Changed The Name Of My Blog

September 23, 2016 2 Comments A+ a-

Hey Guys! To anyone that follows my blog and has been wondering why I've been MIA it's simply because I've changed my blog name. Last week Monday I started school and honestly it's been sooo tough and just URRRRGH! Being in year 11 doesn't make it helpful either and of course there's day to day issues that shall not be named until further notice. Lol.

But on to the main subject: why did I change my name?
It was honestly a decision that was made quickly and doing it made me want to quit blogging at some point because I was panicking and fearing that doing blogging could cause me to almost go cah-razzzyy. But I'm here and I realise that sometimes I overthink too much and need to chill. My mum was actually the one who suggested the change in name. I take my mum's opinion very strongly so when she says jump then boo boo, I will do it.

To be honest 'Love, Tina Jayde' was just not me. It didn't 'fit' my brand (who knows where this blog will go eh?) or my identity. Although I choose to be partly concealed because guys, I am just not ready to put a face to the name yet, I couldn't distance myself from who I am basically. Tina Jayde was composed by different factors of my actually name. AKA, I just got parts of my real name and meshed it to form Tina Jayde, that was clearly pointed out by my mum who said it just didn't suit me to put it in plain and simple anglais.

So after tears, worries and prayer, we got 'Simply, Jessy Tee'. 'Simply' because it's a nice touch, Jessy because that's my nickname and Tee because that's the beginning of my last name :) And I feel like deep down that's the name I should have had, from day 1! :)

HUGE TIP: If you're planning to start a blog or even just planning on changing the name of your blog, make sure you find the perfect name/do it as soon as possible. As in if you're doubting the name of your blog- take a break, choose a perfect name then change it. Going through the process of changing my name, I realised that if I was to have built a following or left it too late, it would have been crazy hard and honestly the worst timing for me and you. So thank God I did it as soon as possible.

So no, I wasn't procrastinating or avoiding blogging, I was just trying to renovate the blog for my own peace of mind in future and so that I wouldn't leave it too late. So....

Thank you for reading you beautiful diva and have a great week!

My Blogging Schedule

September 11, 2016 0 Comments A+ a-

Hey guys! This post is not informative nor long, actually it is informative but it's just a heads up for what's to come with this blog. For starters if you have read my '10 facts about me' post, you will have learnt that I'm currently doing my GCSE's. I am doing it for a second year which means this year, annoyingly, is the most crucial, time consuming and important year in my secondary school experience. So to give you a heads up, I will not be posting every 2 days or twice a week because unless there's suddenly 48 hours in a day, I just don't think it's going to be possible. *smh*
However, I am aiming to post once a week, AKA 4 times a month.

New post: Every Sunday
Or every other day after 5pm

Whatever free time I have during the week will be spent planning/taking pictures. Saturdays will be for editing and writing the post so that it can be published the following day. *FUN FACT* My butt is always at home if not in school, so I should be alright. :)
If I am not able to post, just bare with me. At the very least, there should be 2 posts within a month.
I do plan to do things in bulk, so instead of prepping for 1 post- I'll be prepping 4 different posts. Its all in the planning and commitment. But I got faith yall!
But have a blessed week with lots of laughter. If there's any changes in the schedule, your girl will let you know. Thanks for reading,
